Boss des Bosses -Annually - March 19th 2008
Europe's biggest inter resort mogul ski competition is held every year in Chamonix at grands Montet. Pitting the best skiers from resorts such as Zermatt, Courcheval and Chamonix, the competition kicks off during the day with mogul races and parties late into the night in Chamonix town centre.

For the past 18 years, Chamonix has hosted the festival of science. This year's theme is Identity.
Grands Montets Free Ride day -Sunday 4th May 08
To help celebrate the end of the season, Grands Montets annually hosts the free ride day. There will be music, BBQ, and hopefully some great snow and sunshine to see in the end of what has been a terrific season for skiing. Please not the lifts stay open until 11th May.
Mont Blanc Marathon & Cross - 28-29th June 08
Mont-Blanc Marathon : 42,195 km from the centre of Chamonix to Planpraz Vallorcine and the mountains.
Cross du Mont-Blanc : 21 km from the centre of Chamonix to Planpraz via Argentière.
International Climbing Championship - 11-13th July 08
The world's leading mountain climbers travel to Chamonix to compete in this world championship competition over 3 days in July.
French National Day - 13th July 08
The celebrations start with the finals of the international climbing world cup (see above). Then, as the sun goes down with a spectacular fireworks display and an open air ball held at the athletics track in the heart of Chamonix.

83rd Guides Festival in Chamonix - 14-18th August 08
The "Compagnie de Guides de Chamonix" was founded in 1821. The Guides Festival takes place every year to raise money and support for the guides, award those guides for their outstanding achievements, and to honour those who have lost their lives on the mountain.
Ultra-trail Tour du Mont-Blanc - 29-31st August 08

Over the course of three days, participants cover a total of 158kms, 3 countries, 7 valleys, 71 glaciers and 400 summits, through 8,500 metres. And all this in just 45hrs! The current record is 21 hours and 6 minutes.
