Child's private lesson

Private lessons can be a great choice if you really want your child to make some progression in their skiing or boarding. The nature of private lessons means the attention is all on them so there can be greater opportunity to improve and gain specific direction from the instructor. We find that some parents opt for 3 private half day lessons instead of ski school for their children. Read below to see if private lessons would be the best option for your child and your party.
Getting value for money
Private lessons can sometimes be a great option instead of opting for group lessons. If you have a 3 or more of children in your family or party who are all of a similar level then choosing a group private lesson can work out cheaper with a lower instructor to student ratio. Something to consider....
Types of private lessons
Private lessons have to take place and finish at certain points in the day. We often have guests requesting their private lesson begin at 10am instead of 9am however this is not possible as the instructors have to factor into their day following lunchtime and afternoon lessons. An overview of the lessons and prices are show below:
Lunchtime lessons
12pm - 2pm 99 euros (total price based on up to 2 people)
Private morning or afternoon lesson
9pm - 12pm or 2pm - 5pm 130 euros (up to 3 people) 170 euros (3-5 people)
Full day lesson or guiding All abilities
9pm - 5pm 360 euros
Note: prices above are average only
Meeting points
For a private full day lesson there is often the chance for your instructor/guide to pick your child up from your accommodation and drop them off again. For lunchtime lessons the meeting point is usually based on their ability and then where their specific instructor is being based that day for their morning and afternoon lessons. For private half day lessons you do have some preference as the location however this is subject to individual bookings. Both your representative and the ski school will do their best to conduct the lesson in a place most suited to your child's needs, level and the snow and weather conditions.
Booking and Payment for lessons
Payment for lessons can be taken in advance or whilst you are in-resort. To avoid disappointment or confusion we ask all guests to complete a ski lesson order form which includes all the information we need to know to confirm your booking. This includes, start date, number of hours/times you require, your child's name and ability and contact information.
Note: If you fail to turn up to your lesson with your child ready to ski/board and do not contact either your instructor or Chamonix All Year you will still be charged. Please inform us as soon as possible if you get lost of feel you may be late for your lesson as we can assist you with this.
