Adult ski school

When you arrive on a ski holiday, most people have a goal to improve their techincal skiing or to increase their confidence on the slopes. Other's arrive completely new to skiing but would like to make some good progression in the time they have. These are all common scenarios along with questions such as; will the instructors speak my language? And, which school is closest to my accommodation?
Chamonix All Year are proud to have ski school partners up and down the valley so you can be sure that there will be a suitable provider near to you. We can also suggest the most relevant schools based on price, location, teaching style and teaching schedules.
This year we will have partners based in Le Tour, Grands Montets, Chamonix Planards and Le Savoy and Les Houches. Speak to your representative to enquire further or to make a booking by emailing relax@chamonixallyear.com. To look at the different ski areas in more detail click here.
Half terms and Christmas weeks - early booking required
Very busy weeks in Chamonix include the February half term - which includes both English and French schools - and the Christmas period. Please get in touch early to avoid disappointment. We suggest 2 months in advance.
Average prices
Every ski school varies slightly and so does the exact duration of each lesson. For an overview of prices see below:
Typical 5 day morning/afternoon ski school (9am-12pm) 150 euros
All mountain off-piste course (4 x 1/2 days) 220 euros
Note: average prices only
Classes are based at beginner, intermediate and advanced level. There are even intermediate techincal courses and women only courses too for boarders and skiers. Ask your resort representative for more information.
Getting to ski school
As Chamonix is a resort made of 5 separate ski areas many schools try to arrange some form of pick-up service or shuttle service to help you get to ski school as quickly and smoothly as possible. Your resort representative will explain the arrangements of your specific ski school.
Chamonix All Year also offer an in-resort minibus service; so if you require a number of pick-ups and drop- off's, or maybe you are part of a large family or group all attending ski school, we can supply a hassle-free alternative that means you all get to the slopes on time.
If you have your own car then all ski areas have large free car parks, these can become much busier at peak periods.
Note: if you book a half day ski school then you are not droppped back to your meeting point/accommodation afterwards. This is due to the instructors contining lessons over the lunch and afternoon following.
Start days for ski school
Generally, ski school begins on a Monday of each week. However, ski schools do offer a Sunday start should you arrive into Chamonix on a Saturday. As ski schools run until Friday you can opt to choose a 6 day ski school (the Sunday is classed at a 'refresher day') or, you can choose to begin a normal 5 day ski school. The prices increases for your additional day of teaching on the Sunday.
Note: Some ski school partners break on Wednesday, you will be informed if this is the case for you.
Booking and Payment for lessons
Payment for lessons can be taken in advance or whilst you are in-resort. To avoid disappointment or confusion we ask all guests to complete a ski lesson order form which includes all the information we need to know to confirm your booking. This includes, start date, number of days you require, your name and ability and contact information.
Note: As ski school runs to a specific teaching schedule - based on the group progressing to the same level each lesson - you will be unable to join a course half way through a week or claim funds back for not attending all the lessons. This is standard practice across all the Chamonix ski schools.
