Walking & Hiking in and around Chamonix

There are some beautiful walks which can start right outside the accommodation front door. If you want a gentle stroll along the river l’Arve or more strenuous hike up the mountain, all walks are well signposted around Chamonix and you can also pick up a map from the local tourist office.

Chamonix is stunning in the summer months with its incredible alpine scenery, lakes, flowers and alpine animals too. If you're looking for a scenic walk for the whole family we suggest the Cascade du Dard trail. This 40 minute walk, which starts in Chamonix at the Grépon car park, takes you to a pictoresque 20m waterfall which is perfect for pictures and picnics. For others who wish to experience the technical and personal challenges of mountaineering their was through some of the valleys most renowned spots then we also have the answer. Our partners at Evolution 2 offer a range of options including;

  • Moutaineering courses to build your skills and confidence that start from 560€ for beginners 
  • 'A La Carte' mountaineering on high mountain routes which can include the Cosmique Arete and Mont Blanc du Tacul
