Climbing in Chamonix

Chamonix offers some of the most extensive rock & ice climbing in the Alps, catering for complete beginners to advanced. There are a number of good climbing areas to get you started including the cliffs at Les Gaillands right by the Le Vert Hotel and the Mont Block apartments.

Compagnie des Guides have a fantastic climbing school at the Gaillands cliff. The experience of Compagnie des Guides is second to none, they offer half day ice climbing on the Mer de Glace glacier - an incredible experience and one you’ll remember for a long time. Or if you prefer they will take you on one of the many cliff tours in the Chamonix Valley for either a half day or full.
