Climbing in Chamonix

Chamonix offers some of the most extensive rock & ice climbing in the Alps, catering for complete beginners to advanced. There are a number of good climbing areas to get you started including the cliffs at Les Gaillands right by the Le Vert Hotel and the Mont Block apartments.

Rock climbing with Evolution 2

If you are a beginner wanting to try your hand at rock climbing for the first time or more advanced climber wanting to go that next step then our partners at Evolution 2 will be your next step.  They offer a very good programme for beginners which consists of 4 half days (185€). Alternatively, you can simply book a half day at the climbing school which is 49€ for beginners and 85€ for a full day at advanced level.

Via Ferrata

If technical climbing is your thing and you fancy spending a half day or day working with cables, iron ladders and narrow ledges along a rock face then this is for you. This really will be an experience to take away with you and it's perfect for groups. Price for a full day per person is 115€ and thankfully all your safety equipment is provided!

Canyoning

Canyoning is becoming ever-more popular with adrenaline seekers and adventerous families with older children. Imagine working your way down an alpine canyon overcoming the terrain and waterfalls through climbing, abseiling and scrambling your way down to the end. This is a fun day out guaranteed! Share in the drama and the buzz of this great activity with your friends and family with the guidance of a qualified instructor. Prices start from 99€ per person for a full day out.

Compagnie des Guides have a fantastic climbing school at the Gaillands cliff. The experience of Compagnie des Guides is second to none, they offer half day ice climbing on the Mer de Glace glacier - an incredible experience and one you’ll remember for a long time.
